Here a tooth

My soon to be 5 year old son Ethan, just lost his first tooth and I thought I would write a rhyme to commemorate it. Feel free to copy it and read it your children.

Here a tooth
There a tooth
Where a tooth now
One for a penny
And two for a cow

For a while here
The next minute gone
Mind I not
If it had stuck around for long

But Alas
Alas
The day finally came
When out popped my tooth
With excruciating pain

Not so much as natural
As I hoped it would be
The chip on the floor
Being evidence to me

I always felt like a slugger
Now I look the part too
I dare you to laugh at me
Then I’ll be messing with you

Well I can’t complain now
As I hope to get paid
See how much it will fetch on eBay
Before the tooth fairy’s raid
